I'm Sahar G., the breeder behind Sahar Paz Salukis located in Grass Valley, CA. Our Desert-bred Salukis are first and foremost family dogs. They are sporty, classy and come from healthy working lines. About Us — Sahar Paz Salukis Sahar Paz Salukis was established in 2022 in Grass Valley, born from a deep respect for the Saluki’s ancient heritage and a modern commitment to life as a beloved companion. Our lines are directly descended from the Neshama Tova lines in Israel and are first-generation desert-bred imports. As of 2026, our dogs carry no American genetics, preserving authentic type, temperament, and athleticism. While our Salukis honor their history, they are bred first and foremost as pets and family members—dogs meant to live in the home, bond deeply with their people, and share everyday life. Our dogs have already proven themselves in the show ring. One of our own, Hornet, recently became the first Sahar Paz Saluki to earn a Championship title, a milestone we are incredibly proud of. Athletically, our lines shine in simulated hunting sports, excelling in Lure Coursing and Fast CAT, where their natural speed, drive, and grace truly come alive. So far, we have welcomed two litters: The Kittyhawk Litter (December 2023), consisting of 3 males and 4 females—4 smooth-coated and 3 feathered. The Lockheed Litter (January 2026) consisting of 1 male and 3 females - 3 feathered, 1 smooth. Genetically, our lines are equally likely to produce smooth or feathered Salukis, reflecting the natural balance seen in traditional desert-bred stock. At Sahar Paz Salukis, we are honored to steward this extraordinary breed—preserving its heritage, celebrating its versatility, and raising Salukis who are as cherished at home as they are impressive in the field.

Sahar has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sahar partners with them to find the best puppy match.
“We have our own questionaire that we request all prospective puppy owners to fill up. Afterwards, we will conduct a video-chat meeting with the prospective owner so that they can see the puppies and us and we can see them. Assuming both sides are comfortable, the owner can then choose their preferred puppy and put down the deposit. Once the deposit is received the puppy is reserved. We will deliver the puppies after they are at least 12 weeks old, depending on the owner's preference.”

“All of our puppies will be fully vaccinated, chipped and vet examined. We register our litters with the Society for the Preservation of Desert Bred Salukis (SPDBS) and UKC. Extended socialization. We ask for the deposit to provide for the puppies' vaccination/vet care pre delivery as well as for their food and other expenses.”
Sahar may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Sahar offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Sahar directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.

About Hornet
Ch. Ca. Breakaway Little Hornet F18 Sahar Paz represents a significant milestone for the Sahar Paz program, combining a distinguished lineage with an equally impressive record of achievement. As the daughter of Phantom and Mirage, Hornet carries a pedigree of excellence that is immediately apparent in her physical presence. She is a smooth-coated Saluki, showcasing a sleek and elegant black and white coat that emphasizes her athletic build and graceful movement. Her appearance is a testament to the classic beauty of the breed, maintained with the refinement expected of a high-caliber dam. Hornet’s career in the ring began with early distinction when she secured Best in Show in the Novice Puppy category at only six months of age. This early success served as a precursor to her history-making journey as the very first Sahar Paz Saluki to earn the title of Champion. Her accomplishments in the show circuit reflect not only her adherence to breed standards but also her poise and natural charisma under the spotlight. While her titles and lineage speak to her quality as a competitor, Hornet’s temperament is what truly sets her apart within a home environment. She possesses a personality that is exceptionally friendly and playful, often seeking out engagement with those around her. Unlike the more aloof reputation sometimes associated with the breed, Hornet is deeply cuddly and thrives on physical affection. Most notably, she displays an extraordinary degree of emotional intelligence, showing a keen sensitivity to the moods and needs of her human companions. This rare combination of athletic prowess and a gentle, intuitive spirit makes her an exemplary representative of the Saluki breed.

Saluki
About Phantom
Phantom was born in June 2014. Silver grizzle in color. Phantom was trained and certified to be a psychiatric service dog. His personality combines natural charm and vociferous attitude. He is patient and tolerant with kids and adults. He loves lure coursing although he has reached the age where he no longer has the turn of speed normally expected in a Saluki. At the age of 12 (as of 2026) he remains healthy and happy
Great health testing

About Mirage
Mirage's favorite spot is our 10 year-old daughter's bed. She was born in November 2021 and is silver grizzle smooth Saluki. Mirage is deeply sensitive, showing remarkable emotional intelligence. She had born two litters (and likely will not be bred again) and was a fantastic mother to both litters. Mirage is most happy when she's doing over 30 MP/H on the lure coursing track.

We can’t recommend Sahar enough. We had a wonderful experience getting our Saluki puppy, Etta (Galaxy). They were very responsive and took a lot of time ensuring that the puppy was a good match. We are so grateful to have connected with them and to have our new family member!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
