I'm Raquel I., the breeder behind Samba Flavors located in Phoenix, AZ. I am a full time dog mom and the puppies that come from my house have all their shots and have basic training. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation, athleticism and intelligence. We are dedicated to providing families with wonderful, healthy family pets.

Litter update on 25 Nov 2025 •…Eleven perfect pairs of ears!! We all passed our BAER Testing today and had our results sent in for OFA to issue our CHIC#s. All the puppies have had a full vet check and passed their BAER hearing tests, so their hearing is totally normal. DNA profiles are all done as well. Each puppy is getting microchipped tomorrow. Everyone has had their first shots, heartworm and is on a regular deworming schedule. They're also getting lots of socialization and learning cool new skills that might just blow your mind. We offer lifetime breeder support, a contract with a health guarantee, and a return clause. You'll get limited AKC registration, and we can discuss full rights later. All good to go by Xmas!!

Litter update on 23 Nov 2025 •…In addition to milk replacement, fesh carrots, watermelon (in moderation) green beans, sweet potatoes, blueberries, pumpkin; his is the kibbles our puppies are currently on. Puppy food should be for large breed puppies. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Litter update on 13 Nov 2025 •…Everyone is starting to have different personalities and showing their unique spots. I will update each puppy separetelly. Their genetic testing came in today and everyone is LUA!! Everyone is also eating hard food and have been introduced to various flavors.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Raquel was awesome to work with. She always responded quickly to my questions. She kept me up to date with my puppy’s progress and shared photos and videos. She also supplied us a care package upon pick up, which include a few toys, treats and a small blanket with mamas scent. I appreciate all the care, love and effort she puts into her dogs.
