I'm Laurie H., the breeder behind Sandpoint Deckers located in Idaho. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We are a small, in-home breeding program where we prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care that we can. We cherish all of our animals and enjoy sharing the love of a dog with other individuals and families!

Price
"The price includes AKC registration, deworming, first vaccinations, and socialization. All puppies will be raised using the puppy culture protocol. Deposits for our Decker Rat Terriers will be $200 Deposits for our Rottweiler Puppies will be $500."

Parent health testing
Good level
Sandpoint Deckers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Rat Terriers.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Working with Good Dog and Sandpoint Deckers has been a eye opening experience for us. It has been the best experience with a puppy we have ever had and we are senior citizens with our share of puppies. All the hard work that Laurie and her family put into the puppies really pays off. When you get your puppy, they are set up to succeed and are very well socialized. They have been introduced to almost anything you can imagine and they have been loved, handled, and taken care of so well they are just a pleasure to be around. Laurie always kept us up to date with pictures of our puppy so by the time we picked him up, we really had the feeling we already knew him . I think Laurie is awesome. I know she cares about where her puppies go and she takes good care of them. My Mom and I are anxiously waiting for Bailey to be ready. I am making a 15 foot long chain link fence/gate along one side of the house so she will have the whole back yard to play and be safe in. Bailey is special to me because I have stage 4 cancer and I recently lost touch with my old buddy(through divorce), Thor, a 6 year old golden retreiver. Laurie knows I need a new buddy and she has been so nice.
