Q. & A. with Sara

  • Why did you start breeding?

Have you met Minzi, the face of SATA Kennels? Seven years ago, Sara embarked on a breeding journey, captivated by Minzi's exceptional temperament, love for children, loyalty, and charming personality. Minzi became the heart dog that ignited Sara's passion for all dogs. For us, breeding is not merely a business venture; it's a commitment to sharing the joy and love that dogs like Minzi bring into our lives.
  • What makes your program special?

What sets SATA Kennels apart? We meticulously select our sires and dams, prioritizing their health and temperament. Throughout pregnancy, we focus on the well-being of the mother, ensuring she receives optimal nutrition for herself and her pups' growth. Our spacious home provides ample room for exercise, while our animals are socialized extensively, laying the foundation for positive habits in the future.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Boerboel puppies include irish marked, black, cream, reddish brown, red, fawn, and brindle. Shorkie puppies include red and white, red, and black and tan. Yorkshire Terrier puppies are black and tan. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, red, black, black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Sara was marvelous to work with. We were so excited and she shared pictures frequently; even on her journey to bring us our sweet baby. This little boy changed my mom’s life. His spunky personality is a joy. He’s loving and snuggles at her neck, which she adores. When he’s ready to play, watching him bound fearlessly with the other dogs is amusing. I swear he hops. Sara provided all the support I could ask for, and more. Thank you so very much.

Sara was so easy to work with. We picked up our shorkie puppy at her home. We were able to meet our puppy’s mother and see a few of his siblings. I think what I liked the most about Sara was the tenderness and love she had for these pups.

Sara is so knowledgeable about Yorkies. She answered so many questions for me before I picked up my puppy and after I brought him home. He has completely changed my life! I find myself laughing at him all the time. He is playful and so lovable. Because she trains them on potty pads, housebreaking him was a breeze. Also, he does well with grooming and vet checks because of her sensory training. Sara gave me weekly updates after he was born and sent pictures. I wouldn’t change a thing! I wholeheartedly recommend her as a breeder.
