Meet the breeder

I'm Meredith P., the breeder behind Selah Kennel located in Virginia. At Selah, we practice pedigree analysis, AKC registration, genetic and health testing, in-depth breed research, competitive evaluation of breeding stock, and transparent business methods including puppy-back guarantee contracts.

Q. & A. with Meredith

  • Why did you start breeding?

Through competing at AKC dog shows, I recognized the value of not just showing a great dog, but breeding even better ones that are superior breed representatives as well as healthy and well-adjusted. Under the guidance of very successful and knowledgeable mentors, I bred my first litter of Italian Greyhounds in 2013.
  • What makes your program special?

I take every breeding very seriously and invest countless hours researching and preparing even before puppies are on the ground. When raising and evaluating litters, I incorporate many strategies recommended by Pat Hastings in Puppy Puzzle.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
