I'm Kathi P., the breeder behind Sierra Vizslas located in Bakersfield, CA. I take a lot of time (years) researching my breeding. It is not "I have a girl dog, you have a boy dog, let's make puppies!" My mission as a breeder is to preserve the integrity of the Vizsla. For this reason, I only breed occasionally when I'm sure I'm producing a litter that meets breed standards.

Why did you start breeding?
I bought our first Vizsla for my husband, who was looking for a good hunting dog. Ended up with the "runt" of the litter, who ended up being AM, CAN, MEX, INT CH. FCH, AFH, MH, CD, VC. We had so much fun with the dog, seeing what he had and what he could do, I was encouraged to breed him. That was 45 years ago!What makes your program special?
I spend a lot of time and effort with my pups. They are whelped in the kitchen and stay there as they grow so they have the activity of the household (loud noises etc) We also handle them daily from a very early age so they get used to being touched and groomed. We also start them on birds at 4 weeks of age so they know what they are bred to do!! I breed from strong field stock and from experience these puppies will be very "bird forward". I am looking to place them with families that hunt or at the very least will take them to AKC Hunt Tests so they can do what they were bred to do HUNT!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are golden rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kathi partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Daae is a female Vizsla almost 7 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Kathi decided to make her part of their program. Kathi has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
