Meet the breeder

I'm Michelle C., the breeder behind Sierra Wind Norwegian Elkhounds located in Mount Aukum, CA. I produce pups that will continue to excel in their chosen field, whether that be working, showing, or as an active companion. My dogs work hard, play hard, love hard, and are part of the family. I am dedicated to preparing all of my pups to excel in life, and I love matching healthy, happy puppies with loving families.

Q. & A. with Michelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

It is my passion to breed these incredible dogs and help ensure the future of the Norwegian Elkhound. It is an honor to represent this breed and create opportunities for others to learn about the breed and experience the same joy that I've found in raising and showing these wonderful dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

My heavy involvement in the show world speaks to the standards that I breed my dogs by. I do not breed my dogs unless they are fully health-tested and are excellent representations of the breed. I am dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, socializing, and training my pups. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
