I'm Pam K., the breeder behind Solo Silken Windhounds located in Connecticut. I'm a very small hobby breeder who only breeds every couple of years. All my dogs are health tested before breeding. My dogs live in my home with me as my family.
Q. & A. with Pam
Why did you start breeding?
I grew up in a family that raised Collies. I have always loved dogs, but decided as an adult, that Collies weren't the breed for me. I got involved in Borzoi, and as I got older, I decided I needed to go a little smaller. That's when I found Silken Windhounds.
What makes your program special?
All my puppies are raised in my home and are exposed to a variety of things to try to make them as bombproof as possible. I use Puppy Culture in their development. I have successfully raised dogs who have gone on to become service dogs, show dogs, scent work dogs, as well as great family pets. That is the ultimate goal, to find the perfect fit of puppy to home.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
