I'm Mercedes H., the breeder behind Southern Paw Breeding Co located in Enfield, IL. We believe in quality, integrity, and creating lifelong bonds—both with our puppies and the families who welcome them home. We raise the puppies in home using the BAB method and puppy curriculum. We are 100% health tested, temperament testing, meet and greets, and one year health guarantee.

Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding after we got our second doodle. I went through mentors and did my research on how to be the best we can possibly be when it comes to breeding.What makes your program special?
We offer many special things: - our dogs are DNA and health tested - we raise them on the BAB program - we offer a one year health warranty - we offer meet and greets as well as temnperament evouluations - we take our pups to the vet and start their shots before they go home - they are wormed thoroughly Here at Southern Paw we do everything we can to give you a happy and healthy pup.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include petite and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, apricot, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
Getting a puppy from Mercedes
Mercedes has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Mercedes partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“We take great care in placing each puppy with the right family. Puppies are matched once they're old enough for us to evaluate their temperaments and personalities- usually around 7-8 weeks.”

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA), Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
