Meet the breeder

I'm Casey H., the breeder behind Star•CH Wirehaired Pointing Griffons located in Menan, ID. Our dogs are outstanding hunting companions, and we are proud to continue their line. We breed both to provide families with loving and capable companions and to improve upon our dogs' fantastic traits with each generation!

Q. & A. with Casey

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got our first Griff (Brass) 7 years ago and fell in LOVE with everything about the breed! Which led us to purchase our 2nd Griff (Hannah) 2 years ago and have loved their natural hunting and family abilities. We want to further great hunting lines as well as bring up AMAZING members for your family
  • What makes your program special?

I think it’s the fact, we do it as a family. It teaches our kids responsible breeding standards. That it’s not just for the money but to share our blood lines/talent our dogs have to offer!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are brown and gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

"o deposit holders: ⸻ Star•CH Wirehaired Pointing Griffons Official Puppy Selection & Pick Order Policy At Star•CH Wirehaired Pointing Griffons, our top priority is placing each puppy in the home where they will thrive for a lifetime. For this reason, we follow a structured selection process focused on temperament, personality, and overall compatibility — not just color or markings. 1. Deposit List & Pick Order • Pick order is determined by the date deposits are received. • Deposits are non-refundable but transferable to a future litter if needed (optional — adjust if you’d like different wording). • Families will be notified of their position on the list once deposits are confirmed. 2. Timing of Selections • Puppy selections will not take place until the puppies are approximately ___ weeks old (most breeders choose 5–7 weeks). • This allows time to properly evaluate temperament, drive, confidence, energy level, and structure. • Early picks based solely on newborn photos will not be permitted. 3. Temperament-Based Matching • Puppies will be evaluated as they mature. • We reserve the right to guide, recommend, and when necessary, override selections to ensure the best long-term match between puppy and family. • Our goal is lifelong success — not first-come, first-color selection"
