I'm Donna Y., the breeder behind Steppin'wolf Irish Wolfhounds located in Texarkana, TX. I am a small breeder of carefully selected, and health screened Irish Wolfhounds. I breed with the AKC standard in mind. It is my goal to better the breed through health testing, breeding for longevity, and conformation to the standard of excellence. I offer top-quality pups for show and pet homes.

Why did you start breeding?
Although I am very involved in showing my dogs, my dogs are beloved companions first and foremost. I decided to responsibly breed them as a way to connect my pups to others that will love them just as much as I do. I breed to preserve the legacy of the Irish Wolfhound and I'm passionate about good breeding practices.What makes your program special?
I am purposeful in everything that I do regarding my dogs, which includes careful selection of breeding dogs and extensive health testing. My goal is to produce healthy dogs with great temperaments that are exemplary representations of the breed in type, movement, and temperament.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include wheaten and brindle, wheaten, red and brindle, cream, gray and brindle, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

"The price includes a contract with a health guarantee, AKC registration, current vaccinations, health tested parents, liver shunt tested puppy that has been microchipped & examined by a veterinarian. Once you are approved and I know you are getting a puppy, I will request a down payment of 25% prior to pick-up. The final payment is due before our arranged pick-up date."

Litter update on 20 Jan 2025 •Tha puppies ate their first meal of mush on 1/14/25. Now they will be nursing less and eating more mush everyday.

About Zia
Zia is a active fun loving girl who likes to play with other dogs and travel with her owners. She is great with cats and other dogs, but is a somewhat rowdy playmate. She is a beautiful black brindle who finished her AKC Championship easily from the Bred by exhibitor class. She currently has most of her GCH wins after only 2 weekends of showing as a CH. We plan to finish her GCH after she finishes her Mom duties in 2025.

About Tribble
Tribble is an energetic girl who still loves to sleep in the bed with me and run with her dog friends. She is a large girl with great conformation, health, and sweet, but a little demanding, temperament. We expect puppies with lovely conformation, health, and temperaments, mostly gray brindles, but Tribble did have some wheatens and darker brindles in her only other litter.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Serum Bile Acid Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
