Meet the breeder

I'm Maria B., the breeder behind Stoneheart Mastiffs located in Clanton, AL. We show our dogs so you will have an idea of what you're buying based on the parents. We do our best to bring in top notch stud dogs as well as top notch females. It takes a lot to weed out bad traits when you get them. But that's exactly what we try to do.

Q. & A. with Maria

  • Why did you start breeding?

We had been wanting a Mastiff for about a year. I read all I could on the breed to see if it would be a match for us. We got really involved with researching everything we could find about health, breeding, shows and genetics. We searched the entire country and found our Mastiff. Our first female has her championship. We love the breed so loyal and gentle.
  • What makes your program special?

We have a 24 acre ranch. Our dogs roam and experience different things, places and sounds. This helps socialization and feeds the natural curiosity of Mastiffs. We take them to different places to get them accustomed to what is out there. We show our dogs so that we may see how our dogs stack up with other great Mastiffs. We try to make sure our lines are gentle, healthy, and structure correct.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Dennis and Marie of Stoneheart Mastiffs have been professional, helpful, and warm. We could not have asked for better breeders or a better dog. My husband (who is a veterinarian), was extremely impressed with our pup in every way. In addition to being a beautiful dog, "Wolfie" has a sweet temperament and his antics keep us laughing. Our experience with Stoneheart Mastiffs has been 10 stars out of 10!

We had a great experience with Stoneheart Mastiff’s. They were very responsive to all our questions…they sent additional pictures when requested and they explained more about the coloring. We went with a reverse brindle pup. Dennis delivered our pup to us and made sure we understood all the paperwork and helped with her introduction to our other two dogs. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a Mastiff puppy. Stoneheart’s Lady Arabella…aka Bella is very dog friendly, a little shy with new humans but overcomes her shyness quickly. She loves water and is not at all fearful. She is a beautiful addition to our family. Doing business through Good Dog was simple. It gave us peace of mind when paying for our puppy in line.
