Meet the breeder

I'm Jessica K., the breeder behind Suma Kennels located in Marshfield, MO. My dogs are raised in a loving home environment where health and temperament is most important. I do show my dogs, and compete in performance events. With the GSP, we are lucky to hunt wild birds four months out of the year.

Q. & A. with Jessica

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was raised in performance sports as a kid. My parents were active in tracking and obedience with our Dobermans, in 1996 we got our first Swissy, and in 2007 I got my first GSP. I have traveled all over the country showing our dogs - Westminster and Royal Canin included, have produced dogs that have won at our national specialties and have competed in highest levels of AKC and NAVHDA in the field.
  • What makes your program special?

Each one of the puppies born here are raised with the intention of “staying with me”. I raise all litters in my home, and exposed to so many environments and stimulation to make them well rounded individuals before going home. My adult dogs get a lot of off time being “just dogs” - playing in water, exploring our farm, etc. I keep in contact with all our families through the life of their dog and beyond.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppies are black, white and red. German Shorthaired Pointer puppies include black roan, black and white, black, white and liver, liver roan, liver and white, and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jessica

Jessica has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Jessica partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“Once you are approved as a potential home for a puppy, we watch temperaments closely to make sure we are matching your family’s needs as well as the puppy’s to set you up for success. Families will have 1-3 options ideally to choose from as puppies develop and age.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $350 non-refundable deposit and between $1,150 - $2,150 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“Price includes AKC registration and microchip enrollment with AKC Reunite. This is non-negotiable. All deposits are required to hold a spot for a puppy. They are non-refundable unless I do not have a puppy for you at the time they go home (temperament testing proves a puppy is non compatible, or health check not passing).”

Contract & health guarantee

Jessica may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Jessica offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Jessica directly.
