I'm Jessy B., the breeder behind Sun Rize chihuahuas located in Indianapolis, IN. At SunRize we strive to produce healthy pups that meet the akc standard. When we have a litter it’s with purpose, for our breeding program as well as the show ring. When puppies are available we are over joyed to be able to provide such wonderful companions that have health and quality behind them.
Q. & A. with Jessy
Why did you start breeding?
My love for the breed has been life long. My grandmother bred chihuahuas for 50+ years and I’ve always been associated. There’s not been a day in my life I haven’t had a chihuahua. I started showing our dogs when I was 12, showing in both juniors and the breed ring with success. Now that I’m “grown up” I have taken over grandmas breeding program and began to develop my own.
What makes your program special?
I think what really makes my program special aside from quality and health is actually having a preservation breeder. As a preservation breeder my focus is on the breed and it’s well being as well as the dog as an individual.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
