I'm Christopher G., the breeder behind The Goodrich Ranch located in Albuquerque, NM. We strive to re-introduce top-quality Great Pyrenees to our own small corner of the world here in New Mexico. We are a very active family raising our puppies to be well-balanced with a focus on socialization and health. We have screened all of our breeding stock for genetic and health conditions to be able to offer the best possible puppies. We also raise goats, chickens, ducks, and cats that the puppies are exposed to from the start. Our dogs make excellent family companions and livestock guardians!
Q. & A. with Christopher
Why did you start breeding?
Upon moving to our five acres, and starting to raise chickens and ducks, the coyotes began to give us problems. Our dogs at the time cowered under the beds, and thus we began our search for a solution! After researching which method would be the most feasible and reliable, we looked over the livestock guardian breeds. The Great Pyrenees was the most compatible breed to our lifestyle.
What makes your program special?
Our small size combined with the varieties found on our property is perfect for raising Great Pyrenees for any type of role they are suited for. We naturally socialize our puppies and being the training process as soon as they are born, leading to well-balanced adult dogs that our customers have remarked on numerous times. Our carefully picked breeding stock ensures genetic diversity.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
