Katie & Chuck K.

Breeder of Pudelpointers

Meet the breeder

I'm Katie & Chuck K., the breeder behind True North Kennels located in Ada, MI. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with a healthy, family companion/hunting partner that has a wonderful disposition. We pay great attention to breeding superlative hunting dogs. We also pay close attention to their health and temperament. Our intent is to always better this breed.

Q. & A. with Katie & Chuck

  • Why did you start breeding?

We were raising a service dog who was accepted into the breeding program. We were asked if we would like to continue to host her and whelp her pups. We had a lot of guidance in the whole process. We found that we really enjoy having the little hooligans around! We have had one litter of Pudelpointers and now have about 40 people on our waiting list.
  • What makes your program special?

Because of our work with service dogs, we incorporate many socialization opportunities to our puppies. If we have done our homework picking a stud, the hunting will be bred into the pups. We strive to make sure that our puppy owners are getting a solid, sturdy family companion too. We introduce the pups to walks in the woods, water, and many new opportunities to grow their confidence.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
