I'm Claire W., the breeder behind Turnabout PWD located in Raleigh, NC. I’m a veterinarian and second-generation AKC Breeder of Merit raising Portuguese Water Dogs with my mom in Connecticut, who has bred for 30+ years. Together we focus on health, structure, and temperament to produce confident, loving family companions. I am also on the board of the PWD Foundation.

The puppies had their first meal! I make homemade kefir for them and they love it! Karen is really into it.

Kidd and Koi's litter

Portuguese Water Dog
About Kidd
Kidd was the best dog with the biggest heart. He was select dog at the 2012 National Specialty. He won best in show at the Nutmeg Specialty 2012. He was best puppy in show at the Greenwich Kennel Club show in 2011. He has a wonderful temperament which he passes to his kids. He passed away in 2021, but this litter was conceived with frozen semen. I still miss him everyday.

About Koi
Koi is my heart dog and comes to work with me. She is so sweet and excels at scent work, swimming, and retreiving. She passes her obsession with water onto her kids.
