Meet the breeder

I'm Rhonda T., the breeder behind Turners Chihuahua located in Knoxville, TN. We do our best to socialize and acclimate each litter so we’re able to offer all-around healthy and well-mannered puppies! We started breeding with the simple mission to breed the very best dogs that we can, to raise them with love, and to find them the perfect future homes.

Q. & A. with Rhonda

  • Why did you start breeding?

Just for fun, due to absolute love of the breed. My deer head Chihuahuas are well tempered and family friendly, however keep in mind that Chihuahuas do not typically care for very young children do to fear because of thier small size. They do not usually trust children under 5 because young children move to fast and irrationally and they fear them.
  • What makes your program special?

I raise them in a family setting and expose them to other people and other pets so they are not nervous or afraid of being in public. I also expose them to sounds, so they don't bark at every thing. I potty train them to puppy pads starting from when they are old enough to walk around good as they will not potty near where they sleep. I also crate train them so if they owner works and needs to crate them while at work, they don't have a screaming puppy. They are already use to it. I also keep them until they are 8 to 10 weeks old to insure great health and they are completely weaned from mom and independent. They all have thier own little personality and I can tell you anything you need to know about them. I also take videos of them every week so you can see thier true personality.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include merle and chocolate brindled fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
