I'm Sonia L., the breeder behind Two By Two Lagotto located in Powder Springs, GA. I am a 30 year veteran AKC Breeder of Merit and RN with my Bachelor's in Animal Science. I am AKC inspected and state licensed.

Why did you start breeding?
My parents raised Dobermans and Dalmations when I was growing up so it was in my blood. I started with Australian Shepherds after my discovery of the breed while livestock judging in high school. I set about to be the breeder worthy of raising someone's pet. I discovered the Lagotto looking for the perfect breed for our family.What makes your program special?
Our program is special because I am the first recipient of an AKC Breeder of Merit award in my breed, I am the breeder of the first bred by CM winner, I am the breeder of the most bred by AKC Champions in our breed. We are the kennel responsible for setting up the genetic testing in America for our breed. We were using PC before it was even released.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Lagotto Storage Disease (LSD), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 3 (rcd3), Benign Familial Juvenile Epilepsy (BFJE), Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (NAD), Papillon Type, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
