Meet the breeder

I'm Russell F., the breeder behind VOM BOSQUE RIVER DEUTSCH KURZHAAR and FOREST RIVER LLEWELLINS located in Stephenville, TX. With 10 years of experience training, testing, breeding, & hunting our DK shorthairs and Llewellin Setters, we select only the top bloodlines for our program, we prove our dogs in multiple states on multiple species of game every year. Q. & A. with Russell

  • Why did you start breeding?

I had a desire to help establish the DK in North America. As part of that endeavor, as a breeder my goal is to help improve upon the breed. Not breeding just to produce puppies - but breeding with purpose, for the betterment of the breed into the future - for the sake of the dogs!
  • What makes your program special?

As a professional dog trainer I will help you however I can to ensure your journey with your pup is meaningful and successful for the long term. Reach out any time with any questions that I can help guide you through. Additionally, I will always be honest and shoot you straight about my dogs. ALL my breeding decisions are based on the quality of life for the dogs and working to improve the breed!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Russell

Russell has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Russell partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“I send videos every one or two weeks for people to watch the puppies develop. Selection is based on order of deposit received. Puppies are assigned at seven weeks with the occasional exception. I will use the criteria you give me, to help match you with the right pup as much as I possibly can at this age. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.
