Meet the breeder

I'm Caitlyn W., the breeder behind Wagner's Dalmatian's located in Raymondville, MO. It is our goal to produce wonderful dalmatian puppies to share with others. These beautiful dogs have been my passion since I was a young child. All of our breeding dogs are kept inside our home as any puppies we produce will be as well.

Q. & A. with Caitlyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I've loved dalmatians since I was five years old, I got my first dalmatian when I was about 25 years old. And he passed away from a blockage caused by stones and crystals when he was only 8 months old. That caused me to be unsure if I ever wanted another dalmatian again, but with research and reading every chance I got I learned about genetics and LUA dalmatians. LUA is extremely important to me.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and orange, white and lemon, white and liver brown, and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Excellent level

Wagner's Dalmatian's reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Dalmatians.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel, Hyperuricosuria (HUU)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
