Q. & A. with Alexandra

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our first PWD litter was in 2021. My mother bred Poodles growing up and now specializes in Schnauzers. I have the joy of not only having an exceptional male but also an amazing female, as well as wonderful breeder mentors. All of my dogs have terrific temperaments, are titled, and have passed all health tests with flying colors. The puppies that have gone onto their homes are excellent companions.
  • What makes your program special?

Since I am a trainer and a groomer, I love raising puppies with an eye on socialization, early potty training, crate training, and desensitization to grooming. I have two children (aged 10 and 12 years old), as well as the other trainers that work for me, that are all a part of this program to create stable, healthy puppies that are game on for anything but also have an "off" switch.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We are very lucky to be paired with Alexandra for our new puppy Lucky on Good Dog. Alexandra is a very responsible and caring breeder. She was open to my odd and detailed tough questions. She had answered my questions well during our first interview that she set up for us. During this interview I had found out how dedicated she is to breeding Portuguese water dogs and she has had many years of great experience in breeding. She had taught me so much about the breed and given me materials to read before the arrival of the puppy. The books and the materials that she recommended came in very handy. I am a first time dog owner. But Alexandra walked me through the process of choosing the right puppy for my family with young kids and about how to be prepared for the arrival of the puppy, etc. Lucky arrived home at 8 weeks old. She was already trained well in crating, with sit command, sitting when begging and potty trained. Alexandra still keeps in touch with all the litters’ families and answers questions. Thank you, Alexandra! Keep up the good work! Lucky is thriving in her new environment with her forever family.
