Meet the breeder

I'm Melissa S., the breeder behind Wicked Wolfhounds Ltd. located in Colorado. Our breeding program stands out because of the personal attention we give to every detail of the journey. From researching breeding pairs and conducting health testing, to purposefully raising each pup with proper socialization and care, our goal is to help preserve this historic breed.

Q. & A. with Melissa

  • Why did you start breeding?

Being a veterinary technician really spurred my interest in breeding after we brought home our first Wolfhound in 2015. Researching lineage and health concerns in the breed has been a driving force for my breeding program. Focusing on better health and temperament and preserving this historic breed is our goal.
  • What makes your program special?

All our dogs and puppies are raised in our home with us 24/7. I sleep in the whelp room with the puppies and mom until they're about 6-7 weeks old so they have constant care. We raise our puppies on the Puppy Culture program and are exposed to numerous stimulus from the time they're born. We take pride in the fact that our puppies are very well rounded by the time they go to their new homes.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
