I'm Christine L., the breeder behind Wild Bunch Ranch - Home of Le Patou Great Pyrenees located in Arroyo Grande, CA. Le Patou Pyrenees are versatile dogs, excelling as family companions, livestock guardians, and show dogs. I focus on temperament, health, and correct structure. Puppies are raised with livestock and other animals from an early age, building confidence, good manners, and strong guardian instincts.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    When I searched for my own livestock guardians for my sheep, I focused on four things: sound conformation, excellent health, guardian instinct and a solid temperament. After careful research, I found a wonderful breeder with outstanding dogs that met those standards. Over time, I knew I wanted to maintain that same quality, raising dependable, well-bred dogs for my ranch and for others.

  • What makes your program special?

    My goal is to provide sound, healthy dogs with great temperaments. It so happens, they make great family dogs as well as livestock guardians! The puppies are socialized with people and my livestock. I've been fortunate to learn from experienced mentors, and I’m happy to support my puppy buyers, answering questions and offering guidance throughout the dog’s life and beyond.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include white and gray and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Christine

Christine has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Christine partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes the guarantee, AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, microchip, deworming and puppy socialization. These pups will be raised around livestock. All of the puppies are the same price regardless of color or size. Includes AKC registration and microchip.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia, Great Pyrenees Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), OFA/CHIC DNA Repository

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
