Meet the breeder

I'm Jill H., the breeder behind WILDCAT BOERBOELS located in Ferndale, CA. Hello! We are a very small, seasonal breeder located on the beautiful CA coast. All of our dogs share our home with us. We carefully select each pairing to produce dogs that are as close to standard as possible and yet a wonderful companion for you! All of our dogs pass rigorous health screenings before they are bred. we are members of SABBS, AKC and ABC. Our dogs are our pets and only bred with the best. perspective buys are carefully screened to do our best to find the perfect fit. All puppies come microchipped, dewormed, and with current vaccinations. All puppies are sold with limited AKC registration. So give us a call if you think we might have what you are looking for!

Q. & A. with Jill

  • Why did you start breeding?

after having boerboels for a few years and talking to different breeders we decided to give it a try. and what a journey its been! its fascinating, exhausting, stressful and rewarding all rolled up in one big package and sealed with slobber! lol
  • What makes your program special?

i would say probably the fact that we dont own any males. that probably sounds odd, but we would rather pick and choose who we use. that way we get different litters each time and not just repeat litters! That also enables us to look at what we've produced and tailor the next breeding accordingly. Another thing that is different about us from other breeders- our dogs are rarely, if ever, locked in a kennel. they have full access to our 10 acre property, so they can run, play and patrol to their hearts content. we believe that this not only is healthy for them, but allows them to use their guarding instinct.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include reddish brown and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
