Kayla M.

Breeder of Silken Windhounds

Meet the breeder

I'm Kayla M., the breeder behind Willowyn Silken Windhounds located in Ohio. I am bringing home my foundation bitch soon, so it will be a little bit before my first litter. I adore this breed and I aspire to produce healthy, physically and temperamentally sound Silkens that are just as happy to relax at home as they are to be working with their handlers and on the field.

Q. & A. with Kayla

  • Why did you start breeding?

I will be bringing home my foundation bitch soon, but I am friends with some wonderful breeders and mentors who I really respect. I think there is a niche for Silkens that could fit easily in "pet" homes and sport homes alike.
  • What makes your program special?

My goal is to produce healthy Silkens with wonderful temperaments, with plenty of lure drive, biddability, handler focus and food / toy drive. Our standard calls for the body of a functional sighthound and that is my goal. I am a registered Vet Tech and I work at a clinic with a strong reproduction department.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
