I'm Andrea P., the breeder behind Yellowstone Porties located in Rigby, ID. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.

Why did you start breeding?
We decided to get into breeding because we absolutely love our Porties. Having had other breeds throughout our lives, none have been the perfect fit for us, until now. We wanted to share PWDs with other families because we feel they are the best. We have great genetic diversity with our Sire and Dam and felt it would add value to the breed.What makes your program special?
Our program is designed with families in mind. Each of our pups is raised to be easily integrated into their new homes. Special time & attention is given to each pup so we know their personalities and needs to a tee.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Reef
Reef is such an amazing dog. He is very chill and loved by everyone he meets. He is a huge fan of car rides, stealing moms lap every time she sits on the couch, and being with us at all times. We’ve often commented how he would have made a great therapy/service dog.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Microphthalmia Syndrome (PES), Early Onset Progressive Retinal Atrophy (EOPRA), Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
