Good Dog Grant Recipients

Jack Russell Terrier Club of America
The JRTCA will use their Good Dog Grant to continue the crucial education of their Youth Program and encourage life-long leadership skills, as well as dedication to advancing and protecting the breed.

Mastiff Club of America
The MCOA will use their Good Dog Grant to support their Health Clinic at the Club’s National Specialty and subsidize the cost of cystinuria testing, making these important tests more affordable and accessible to breeders and dog owners. The Club will also continue providing education on the importance of cystinuria testing for the future health of the Mastiff breed.

Saint Bernard Club of America
The SBCA will use their Good Dog Grant to further motivate breeders to complete the CHIC testing protocol of five health tests by reducing testing kit costs. The SBCA will also match our Good Dog Grant, doubling the impact of this funding!

Great Pyrenees Club of America
The GPCA will use their Good Dog Grant to encourage the testing of Great Pyrenees breeding stock for dwarfism, by subsidizing the cost of a brand new DNA test for breeders. This DNA test is the result of decades of research that the Club has conducted about dwarfism in the breed. The GPCA will also use their Good Dog Grant to fund public education initiatives to promote the importance of this test.

American Brittany Club
The ABC will use their Good Dog Grant to reward, educate, and promote our young breed enthusiasts by improving the Club’s Junior Handler competition. The ABC will also apply the Good Dog Grant to enhance their annual Breeder’s Education Seminar presented at the Club’s National Specialty, which covers topics such as performance, structure, and health.

American Miniature Schanuzer Club
The AMSC will use their Good Dog Grant for Club promotion by launching a new quarterly Club magazine and improving the Club’s website.

Tibetan Terrier Club of America
The TTCA will use their Good Dog Grant to host a canine health seminar for attendees of the TTCA National. This will allow the Club to provide both Tibetan Terrier breeders and owners with access to information on the latest advances in canine health. The Club will also use their Good Dog Grant to support the rescue efforts of their Tibetan Terrier Health and Welfare Foundation by providing educational materials on how Tibetan Terrier breeders and owners can make responsible decisions about breeding and ownership.

National German Wirehaired Pointer Rescue (Official Rescue of the GWPCA)
The NGWPR will use their Good Dog Grant to fund Project Hope, a project dedicated to providing autoimmune thyroiditis testing by expanding testing to female dogs 2-4 years of age, as well as any older dogs that show symptoms.

National Beagle Club of America
The NBC will use their Good Dog Grant to subsidize the cost of Embark's DNA Testing Kits for their membership.

Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of America
As part of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of America’s incredible efforts to continue improving the health of the Dandie breed, the DDTCA has chosen to use their Good Dog Grant to promote the importance of annual eye exams by veterinary ophthalmologists and registration of results with OFA in order to decrease the risk of inherited eye diseases in the Dandie breed. The DDTCA will use the Good Dog Grant to give breeders and owners money-back vouchers to be used on eye exams. The Good Dog Grant will make such exams more accessible to breeders and owners, and will also provide significant benefits to the DDTCA in terms of data collection.

Field Spaniel Society of America
The FSSA will use their Good Dog Grant to subsidize health testing for Club members during their 2022 National Specialty, where they will be offering cardiac, eye, thyroid, DNA, sperm motility, brucellosis, progesterone, and Factor XI testing.

Northern Flyway Golden Retriever Club
The NFGRC will use their Good Dog Grant to host the Central Regional Specialty show for the Golden Retriever Club of America in 2022. They will be offering a health clinic with DNA blood draws, a working test, a conformation assessment event, competitive breed, obedience and rally classes, and a program on current health issues facing Golden breeders today.

Portuguese Water Dog Club of Northern California
The PWDCNC will use their Good Dog Grant to subsidize the costs of Microphthalmia testing, which they will offer during their Regional Specialty. The Club will then coordinate the submission of such tests to Wisdom Health and the University of Pennsylvania to collect more data on this serious eye condition and how it affects the Portuguese Water Dog breed.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America will use their Good Dog Grant to provide vouchers to the owners of dogs who are health tested in accordance with the protocol to be recognized with a CHIC number and certification, as well as fund Judges Education seminars.

Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America
As part of the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America’s incredible efforts to continue improving the health of the Flat-Coated Retriever, the FCRSA will use their Good Dog Grant to promote the importance of genetic diversity within the breed by offering $10 reimbursements to any FCRSA member that purchases a Genetic Diversity Test through BetterBred. This Good Dog Grant will make such testing more accessible to breeders and members, and will also provide significant benefits to the FCRSA in terms of sourcing critical information for their Flat-Coat database.

Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac
The LRCP will use their Good Dog Grant for Club promotion by providing printed educational materials about responsible breeders and Club activities at their Bare Bones Specialty. The Club will also host a PawPrint genetic testing event for the Labrador participants.

Border Collie Society of America
The BCSA will use their Good Dog Grant to offset the costs of their 2021 Border Collie Society of America National.

Miniature Pinscher Club of America
The MPCA will use their Good Dog Grant to advance their goals of promoting canine health by offering a health clinic at their National Specialty and subsidizing the cost of testing for Club members. The Club will also use their Good Dog Grant to look to the future of the MPCA by offering a scholarship for Juniors.

Chesapeake Golden Retriever Club
Every year, the Chesapeake Golden Retriever Club hosts an eye and heart health clinic. We are so excited that the CGRC will use their Good Dog Grant to subsidize the rental cost for these two clinics. These clinics make eye and heart health checks more accessible to Golden Retriever owners, and contribute greatly to the overall health of the breed.

Long Island Golden Rretriever Club
The LIGRC will use their Good Dog Grant to support and enhance their annual All Breed Health Clinic where they offer OFA eye and heart exams, echocardiograms, and microchipping. They hope to make these tests more affordable and accessible to breeders and dog owners.

National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association
As part of National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association’s incredible efforts to further improve the health of the Entlebucher breed, NEMDA will utilize their Good Dog Grant to reimburse Entlebucher owners for DNA samples to be sent to the CHIC DNA Repository. This will significantly contribute to the amount of critical DNA information available in the database, and will be used toward future research projects.

Mid-America Working Terrier Association
MAWTA will use their Good Dog Grant to purchase trial equipment, as well as offer blood testing at their next event to help make testing more accessible to breeders and dog owners, and assist the Club with data collection.

Chinook Club of America
As part of Chinook Club of America’s incredible efforts to preserve this rare breed, CCA will use their Good Dog Grant to promote health initiatives, as well as to fund their annual National Specialty event. These efforts are incredible as they increase the exposure of this rare breed, and educate the public on all this breed as to offer.

Greater Pittsburgh Retriever Club
The GPLRC will use their Good Dog Grant for Club promotion and breed education by enhancing their booth at Cranberry Community Days, a local 3 day festival, and providing printed educational materials to distribute to the public.

Kuvasz Club of America
As part of the Kuvasz Club of America’s amazing efforts to advance the breed, the KCA will use their Good Dog Grant to help sponsor their annual National Specialty. Events such as this are vital in educating the public on this historic and remarkable breed.

Drever Association of America
The Drever Association of America will use their Good Dog Grant for educational purposes as part of their commitment to inform the public about this rare breed. Additionally, the grant will be used to collect DNA in order to establish a reference population for breed identification of the Drever.

Pyrenean Mastiff USA Club
The Pyrenean Mastiff USA Club is committed to promoting the health of this amazing breed. As part of this ongoing effort, the Club will use their Good Dog Grant to collaborate with fellow breed clubs worldwide, and gather genetic data through Embark to better understand genetic diversity and health within the breed.

Curly-Coated Retriever Club of America
The CCRCA will use their Good Dog Grant to offer rebates to Club members for recording health test in the OFA database, and provide assistance in identifying genetic markers for health conditions that affect the Curly-Coated Retriever breed.

Drentsche Partrijshond Club of North America
As part of the Drentsche Partrijshond Club of North America’s commitment to preserving and promoting the Drent breed, the Club will use their Good Dog Grant to educate the public on the Drent breed standard through educational information, as well as ‘Meet the Breed’ events to increase Drent exposure. It is essential to increase awareness of the Drent breed standard, and this Good Dog Grant will significantly improve public knowledge of the breed, as well as assist in preserving the Dutch character of the breed.

National Kishu Club
As part of the National Kishu Club’s emphasis on education and encouraging more breeders and enthusiasts to become involved with the breed, the Club will use their Good Dog Grant to assist in importing foundation stock to place with Club members. They will also focus on creating public education materials to highlight this amazing breed.

Great Dane Club of Québec
The GDCQ will use their Good Dog Grant to encourage breeders to do OFA echocardiogram certifications, as well as promote responsible dog ownership by organizing CGC trials for Club members and the general public.

Rottweiler Club of Canada
The Rottweiler Club of Canada is excited to use their Good Dog Grant to offer a variety of seminars on topics such as breeding and puppy buying etiquette for their members and the general public. They are committed to promoting responsible breeding, and will utilize their Good Dog Grant to educate the public on how to identify responsible breeders. The RCC will also use their Good Dog Grant to host a future National Specialty as well as a ‘fun day’ for their members.

Vizsla Club of Central New England
The VCCNE will use their Good Dog Grant to help underwrite costs for their regional "Wicked Smaht Clustah" conformation and performance weekend this September. The weekend includes a conformation show handling workshop, demonstration of scent work, and Canine Good Citizen testing.

United States American Bulldog Club
The United States American Bulldog Club will use their Good Dog Grant to revamp their website, and sponsor club memberships and educational workshops on topics such as training and health.

United States Lancashire Heeler Club
The United States Lancashire Heeler Club is on a mission to build a membership of Lancashire Heeler enthusiasts, and will use their Good Dog Grant to increase availability of testing and other health related projects.

German Shepherd Dog Club of Greater Raleigh
The GSDCGR will use their Good Dog Grant to promote the Club by holding a meet and greet for local German Shepherd dog owners, as well as an agility trial or temperament test. The Club will also be donating a portion of their Good Dog Grant to their local K9 police unit.

Old English Sheepdog Club of Greater Seattle
The OESCGS will use their Good Dog Grant to support their next Performance (Rally and Obedience) event, as well as their upcoming breed Specialty later this year. The OESCGS will also use their Good Dog Grant to provide a free seminar to Club members on the topic of reproduction, whelping, and neonatal care.

Great Lakes Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club
The GLCKCSC will use their Good Dog Grant to continue their mission to promote health and education to breeders and pet owners. The Club will host health seminars, reproduction and breed-specific education at their annual specialties. Additionally the GLCKCSC will host an all breed Cardiac, CAER eyes, patella, dentition, & micro-chipping clinic. Their goal is to bring together several other brachycephalic breeds that suffer from the same health concerns such as syringomyelia (SM).

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Delaware Valley
The CKCSCDV will use their Good Dog Grant to educate Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeders on the importance of MRI testing, and will work to establish a clinic to make MRIs more convenient and affordable for breeders. MRIs are necessary to diagnose and determine the degree of Chiari-like malformation (CM) and associated syringomyelia (SM) if present, a structural disorder that impacts the central nervous system disease, causing pain and changes in mobility that is common to the breed.

Mile High Rottweiler Club of Greater Denver
The MHRC will use their Good Dog Grant to help fund their upcoming 2021 Regional and Independent Specialities. The Club will also use their Good Dog Grant to host a health and breeding seminar and health testing clinic for their membership.

Fox River Field Spaniel Club
The FRFSC will use their Good Dog Grant to create a voucher program for underwriting the cost of thyroid blood testing for OFA submission, making these tests more accessible to their members and assisting the Club with important data collection.

German Wirehaired Pointer Club of Wisconsin
The German Wirehaired Pointer Club of Wisconsin will use their Good Dog Grant to support and educate the German Wirehaired Pointer community by hosting a Breeder Education event, as well as a weekend for new German Wirehaired Pointer puppy owners to introduce them to conformation, grooming, bird training, and obedience. The GWPCWI is making immense strides to continue growing their community and welcome those that are new to the breed.

Mid Florida Brittany Club
The Mid-Florida Brittany Club will use their Good Dog Grant to host their six annual events, including two Specialty Shows, two Hunt Tests and two Field Trials. Additionally, they plan on hosting a member ‘Family Fun Training Day’ to introduce Brittany puppy owners to the outstanding abilities of the breed in areas such as agility and obedience, with the goal of providing education to puppy owners on how to keep their Brittany active and engaged. This Good Dog Grant will make such events more accessible to Club members and will help educate new puppy owners about the unique characteristics of the breed.

Central Iowa Kennel Club
As part of the Central Iowa Kennel Club’s commitment to promoting responsible dog ownership, the CIKC will use their Good Dog Grant to host a Responsible Dog Ownership Day and a dog food drive within their community.

Southern Michigan Hunting Retriever Club
The SMHRC will use their Good Dog Grant to support and educate their community by bringing in a rehabilitation specialist to host a seminar on injury prevention and conditioning to learn how to best protect these active dogs from injury.

Hokkaido Association of North America
HANA will use their Good Dog Grant to help build up a genetic database for the breed, by subsidizing the cost of BetterBred genetic diversity tests.

NorthStar Newfoundland Club
The NNC will use their Good Dog Grant to assist the Club’s breed-specific rescue, which is dedicated to preserving the lives, health and welfare of Newfoundlands.

Tacoma Kennel Club
The TKC will use their Good Dog Grant to assist in offsetting costs for their April 2022 show at the Tacoma Dome in Washington, and promoting the show to the public. The TKC will encourage the local community to attend their show in order to bridge the gap between breeders and the general public through events and breed education.

Suffolk County Kennel Club
The SCKC will use their Good Dog Grant to offset the costs of their upcoming Canine Reproduction seminar, led by Dr. Carol Margolis, DVM.

Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Northern Illinois
The BMDCNI will use their Good Dog Grant to pursue more testing on histiocytic sarcoma and encourage more breeders to do echocardiograms looking for sub-aortic stenosis (SAS), as well as fund a research study looking into a genetic marker for SAS in Bernese and Newfoundlands.

Havana Silk Dog Association of America
The HSDAA will use their Good Dog Grant to subsidize the cost of eye exams at their OFA eye clinic later this year during the Club's National Specialty in Virginia Beach. The Club will also focus their efforts on encouraging companion dog owners to test their dogs as well, in addition to breeders.

Coastal Carolina Labrador Retriever Club
The CSCLRC will use their Good Dog Grant to enhance their upcoming Charleston Kennel Club specialty by providing a tent for exhibitors to gather and share educational information with puppy owners.

Redwood Empire Mastiff Club
The REMC will use their Good Dog Grant to bring a cardiologist to their upcoming REMC regional specialty or REMC support entry show, making these services more accessible to members. The Club will also provide breed-specific education for REMC members during this event.

American Manchester Terrier Club
The AMTC will use their Good Dog Grant to assist ongoing genetic studies for breed-specific health concerns. Additionally, the Club will use their funding to provide breed education to the public at upcoming dog shows and on the AMTC website.

American Portuguese Podengo Medio Grande Club
The APPMGC will use their Good Dog Grant to cover the cost of testing kits, and assist Club members in getting DNA blood samples stored
Good Dog is on a mission to educate the public and make it simple for people to get dogs from good sources and for reputable breeders, shelters and rescues to put their dogs in good homes.

Goldendoodle Association of North America
GANA will use the annual grant to promote further education and conduct research to improve the integrity of the breed. Research and documentation maintenance is essential for the future of this breed, and the annual grant from Good Dog will support these efforts.

Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association
The Worldwide Australian Labradoodle Association has chosen to use their Good Dog Grant to focus on the health and pedigree of the Australian Labradoodle. They will invest the grant in health testing for conditions such as Addison’s Disease, as well as on genetic research.

Australian Labradoodle Association of America
As part of the ALAA’s continuous efforts to promote education within the Australian Labradoodle community, the Club will make use of their Good Dog Grant by providing educational materials and information for breeders as well as pet families.

American Pomsky Kennel Club
The APKC will use their Good Dog Grant to continue their work establishing the breed standard by bringing in expert speakers to host a seminar for the Club about functional structure.
