Epilepsy is a common, chronic neurological disease and a risk to health and welfare in dogs. Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome is a common, age-related disease caused by gradual and degenerative changes in the brain. Dr. Stump discusses these conditions and possibilities for nutritional management.

About Dr. Lauren Stump, DVM

A Louisiana native, Dr. Lauren Stump earned both her Bachelors in Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University. She joined Nestlé Purina PetCare in 2019 as a Veterinary Communications Manager and enjoys sharing canine and feline nutrition information with veterinary practitioners and veterinary teaching hospitals and students across the country.​

​Prior to joining Purina, Dr. Stump worked in Federal Government Relations for the American Veterinary Medical Association in Washington, D.C., helping shape Federal laws and regulations surrounding animal and public health. She has also worked in small animal general practice in Northern Virginia and as a Congressional Science Fellow for a U.S. Senator, and she remains active in public policy related to animal health today.​

​In her spare time, you’ll find her being active in the great outdoors, reading, traveling, and generally attempting to live life to the fullest.​
