Both Good Dog and our community of responsible breeders are committed to providing Good Dog buyers with authentic, accurate representations of puppies, adult dogs, and breeding programs. To protect that shared commitment, we have clear standards for photo editing and a zero-tolerance policy for AI-generated or manipulated images.

Policy Overview

Zero Tolerance for AI-Generated Images 

Good Dog does not permit AI-generated images on any listings, profiles, or submissions to our Compliance Team. We will remove AI photos immediately upon detection. 

Compliance Submissions 

Any photos submitted to Good Dog's Compliance Team for review must be completely unedited and unmanipulated. 

Permitted Photo Editing 

We understand you want to represent your program with professional, high-quality photos on your profile and listings. The following use of photo editing tools is permitted:

Minor background adjustments:

• Removing incidental objects (mugs, toys, clutter)
• Blurring or removing other pups/people for privacy
• Standard lighting and color correction
• Removing distracting elements that don't change the setting

Standard photo enhancement:

• Cropping and basic editing tools
• Exposure/brightness adjustments
• Background blur for depth of field

Prohibited Photo Editing 

Any alteration to puppies/dogs:

• Changing coat color, pattern, or markings
• Smoothing, enhancing, or altering physical features
• Removing normal puppy or adult dog imperfections (tear stains, spots, etc.)
• Altering eye color
• Changing size or proportions
• Generating or compositing puppies or adult dogs that don't exist
• Manipulating puppy positioning 

Material changes to environment/background:

• Changing the actual location (indoor to outdoor, bedroom to beach, etc.)
• Adding or removing major environmental elements
• Altering flooring, walls, or setting characteristics
• Creating misleading impressions of dog(s)’ living conditions

Your Account

Photos posted on Good Dog in violation of this policy will be removed immediately upon detection. If we continue to observe activity that does not align with this policy, we may take steps to address it.

We take photo authenticity seriously because Good Dog was built on transparency and trust. Good Dog buyers depend on accurate representations of breeders’ programs to make informed decisions about their future family members.
