Good Dog's policies do not recognize raffles, auctions or other games of chance as a means for placing puppies. Our goal is to help Good Breeders connect with the right buyers for them and to help them place their puppies in safe and loving homes. Our Good Breeder Code of Ethics specifies that potential puppy buyers should be thoroughly screened and vetted to make sure they are the right fit. Offering a dog or puppy as a “prize” is not in line with Good Dog’s Community Standards.
We encourage transparent and open communication between breeders and their buyers including puppy applications, interviews, and contracts to ensure both parties understand the terms of any agreement. Raffles and auctions do not typically allow for the proper screening and vetting or facilitate open communication with potential puppy buyers.
Raffles and auctions both offer puppies as a “prize”. We do not recognize any activities that are considered games of chance, betting or bidding that position puppies as prizes. These activities might include:
