Good Breeder screening criteria

When screening breeders, we take a holistic approach to evaluating each program.

Our team comprehensively considers many aspects of a breeding program, focusing on five key areas:

🐾 Breeding Practices

🐾 Physical health of the breeding dogs and puppies

🐾 Mental health of the breeding dogs and puppies

🐾 ​Environment

🐾 ​Buyer education and policies

Each key area is assessed individually and an assessment is also made of the program as a whole.

At Good Dog, we have breeders who go above and beyond with every aspect of their breeding program. We also recognize breeders who meet the minimum standards we have set for their breed, but may perform fewer health tests than other breeders.

By providing education and transparency into different breeders’ practices, we hope to help equip people to make an informed choice based on their preferences and priorities, while providing our breeders with the education and opportunities to continue to improve their programs.
