Listing adult dogs

While breeders are mostly focused on finding great homes for their puppies, many breeders also have adult dogs looking for forever homes. Whether these are retired breeding dogs, breeding prospects, or older dogs in need of rehoming for other reasons, you can now easily list adult dogs looking for great homes on Good Dog.

Our policy states that breeders may only list adult dogs they raised, either dogs bred by the breeder or dogs that had been part of the breeder’s program. Breeders are not allowed to list rescue dogs or dogs that were not part of their program.

Breeders can list breeds their program is approved for on Good Dog. If you would like to add a breed to your program, please reach out to screening@gooddog.com.

We ask that you disclose any relevant information to the buyer about the dog’s medical history and temperament and ensure the dog receives a proper veterinary exam before placement in line with our standards.

To list an adult dog:
  1. From your Good Dog Dashboard, navigate to the Listings section (on the app, click "Program" at the bottom" and then click "+Add litter")
  2. Click +Add and then select “I’m listing an adult dog”
  3. Follow the prompts to enter details for your adult dog. You can always come back and edit your listing at a later time
  4. Click Done at the bottom to save your changes

Once you start to receive applicants, remember to keep all payments on the platform in line with the Good Dog Payment Policy. Attempting to take a payment off platform can directly harm your standing with Good Dog. If you need support relaying the terms of the payment policy to your buyers, don’t hesitate to reach out to help@gooddog.com.
