Messaging on Good Dog

You can communicate easily with buyers on Good Dog from your desktop, mobile web, or the Good Dog: For Breeders app!

To send a message:
On desktop or mobile web:
  1. From your Inbox, open the chat with the buyer (or search for them using the search bar)
  2. Type your message in the message box at the bottom
  3. Click the send icon (➤) or press Enter/Return on your keyboard

On the Good Dog: For Breeders app:
  1. Tap "Inbox" at the bottom of the screen
  2. Tap the buyer you'd like to message or search for them by name
  3. Type your message in the message box at the bottom
  4. Tap the send icon (➤) to send


Additional options from a chat
By clicking or tapping the "+" icon next to the message box, you can share files, request applications, send payment requests, match buyers to puppies, and more!

To share photos, videos, or files:
On desktop or mobile web:
  1. Click the "+" icon below the message box
  2. Select "Share attachment" and choose the photo, video, or file you'd like to send from your device

On the Good Dog: For Breeders app:
  1. Tap the "+" icon next to the message box at the bottom of your chat
  2. Select one of the following:
    • "Camera" to take a new photo
    • "Photos" to share a photo or video already saved on your device
    • "Files" to send a document or other attachment

To match a buyer with a litter or puppy:
On desktop or mobile web:
  1. From your Inbox, open the chat with the buyer
  2. Click on the buyer's name at the top of the chat
  3. Select "Assign to litter or puppy"
  4. Choose the litter from the dropdown menu, then pick a specific puppy or select "I'll pick a puppy later"
  5. Click "Confirm match" (you can add an optional message before confirming)

On the Good Dog: For Breeders app:
  1. From your Inbox, open the chat with the buyer
  2. Tap the "Details" tab at the top of the chat
  3. Select "Match to litter or puppy"
  4. Choose the litter from the dropdown menu, then pick a specific puppy or select "I'll pick a puppy later"
  5. Tap "Confirm match" (you can add an optional message before confirming)


To request a payment in a chat:
  1. Click or tap the "+" icon next to the message box
  2. Select "Request payment" (or "Payment" on the app, then "Create payment request")
  3. Enter the amount, category of payment, an optional due date, and an optional message
  4. Click or tap "Request now"
