How secure, on-platform payments protect both you and your breeder.

All deposits and final puppy payments are made through Good Dog. This protects both you and your breeder.

When payments stay on platform:

  • Transactions are processed through our secure payment system
  • Every payment is backed by Good Dog Payment Protection
  • Both sides have a clear record of what was agreed to
  • Our team can step in if there’s a problem

If a payment is made outside of Good Dog, we can’t apply our built-in safeguards or help resolve issues.

Deposits and puppy payments made outside of Good Dog violate our Terms of Service and may result in account suspension for either party. If anyone asks you to pay outside of Good Dog, contact us at help@gooddog.com.

Paying through Good Dog

When you pay through Good Dog, your payment is processed securely and backed by Good Dog Payment Protection. It’s built into the platform and designed to support a straightforward transaction from start to finish.

Secure processing
There’s no need to wire money, send cash, or use third-party payment apps. Payments are processed through our secure system using industry-standard safeguards to protect sensitive information, including card and bank details.

Support if something goes wrong
If a serious issue comes up, such as the puppy becoming unavailable or the placement not moving forward as planned, our team can review the payment and message history and help determine next steps. If payment was made off-platform, we’re unable to review the transaction or provide support.

A smoother pickup experience
Many breeders prefer final payment to be completed before pickup so go-home day can focus on the puppy, not payment logistics. Paying through Good Dog ahead of time helps set clear expectations and keeps pickup simple and organized.

Flexible payment options
If your breeder offers payment plans, you can pay in installments while your breeder receives payment in full upfront. At checkout, you may be able to select Klarna to split your final payment into four interest-free installments (up to $2,000) or choose monthly financing.

What’s not permitted

Deposits and final puppy payments must be made through Good Dog. Requesting, sending, or accepting payment off-platform violates our Terms of Service and may result in account suspension.
