Q: What is the recipe you use when mixing the calcium citrate and Pedialyte?
A: I usually use this mixture after each puppy during whelping or if I can see that her contractions could use a boost. This gives calcium plus energy to my bitches.
My recipe is:
- Unflavored Pedialyte
- Lately I have played with using ‘Better Than Bullion' beef flavoring
- Light Karo syrup
- Calcium citrate - I use bulk calcium citrate.
Put 1000mg of calcium citrate into a dish. Add 5cc of karo syrup and 5cc of the Pedialyte mixture. Draw into a 10cc syringe and dribble into your bitch’s cheek during whelping or even after.
