Q: What if any supplements do you give your breeding bitches in between heats/litters?

A: The first thing that I do is make sure that I am feeding a high-quality food appropriate for my girl’s activity levels. Then, I think about supplementing with small amounts that are important to me. I feed twice a day and I use 2 pumps of Grizzly Salmon Oil on each meal, probiotic powder, 500-1000mg Vit C, Chrondroitin Glucosamine (Osteo-BiFlex or similar). Then once a day, in the AM, I give a small amount of Vit E and a B-50 Vitamin.

I am a “less is more” kind of person, so you will see that I am not giving large amounts, but for me it is just enough of the more fragile vitamins that do not survive well during kibble processing, and I want to make sure they have them available in their diet. This has worked well for me for many years.
