Meet the breeder

I'm Cory T., the breeder behind 5280 Blue Ticks located in Bennett, CO. Our dogs are family. We’re a small Colorado ranch raising quality show pigs and Bluetick Coonhounds. Our proven blood-tracking pair was carefully chosen for health, temperament, structure, genetics, drive, and ability. We breed quality over quantity for family, hunting, and tracking dogs.

Q. & A. with Cory

  • Why did you start breeding?

Spent most of my life breeding horses and raising and showing hogs, Breeding hounds has been a new and exciting challenge, but my experience with different breeding programs has made the transition come naturally. We apply the same principles we’ve always believed in—careful selection, strong genetics, sound minds, good health, and proven performance—to raising Blue tick hounds we’re proud of.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a small, family-run breeding program, and for us, this has never been about running a business or producing as many puppies as possible. Whether their future is spent alongside a family, working a blood trail, or hunting hard in the field, our goal is the same: to produce healthy, intelligent, driven, dependable dogs with the heart and ability to do it all.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are blue ticked. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
