Meet the breeder

I'm Abby C., the breeder behind Abby Chaffee located in Ogden, UT. Our dogs are either full golden retrievers, golden-cocker mixes, goldendoodles, or a mix of goldendoodle/golden-cockers (mini golden retriever). All pups will come from parents who have been Embark tested and cleared and OFA tested and cleared. All pups will be under 40 lbs full grown.

Q. & A. with Abby

  • Why did you start breeding?

I first started breeding mini goldens after realizing that I wanted a dog who looked like a retriever, was low-shedding (because of the allergies in my family) and was smaller in structure, since big dogs can get overwhelming sometimes. I also heard about the golden retriever issues created via inbreeding and hoped to reduce that as well!
  • What makes your program special?

My dogs will never live in a kennel. They'll never be cooped up without seeing people for 12 hours a day, and they will never live in a crate their whole lives. All of my parents dogs are health tested completely, go to retirement homes after breeding, and are on the best food. I require (by contract) all of my puppy owners to return a puppy to me if they can't take care of it, so that my pups will never end up in a shelter or pound.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include miniature and medium sizes. Companion Cross puppies include small and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Companion Cross puppies include long and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Goldendoodle puppies include silver, cream, red, merle, and parti. Companion Cross puppies include white, cream, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from Abby

Abby has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Abby partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

“We do a temperament evaluation at six weeks old to get a good idea on the personality of each puppy before we do texts, emails, and facetimes with our families to find out what they want the most in a puppy and help them choose accordingly. We use our expertise to help them make the best decision possible based on what we have observed about the puppies. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,350 - $3,790 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes 3-4 rounds of dewormer, first 1-2 rounds of Parvo Vaccines, a $500 deposit, additional tax, puppy go-home kit, vet examination, IDCR registration, and a 20% discount on puppy food. All pups are the same price UNLESS the puppy is furnished. If the puppy is curly, has facial furnishings (mustache, beard, eyebrows, etc.) then they will be discounted. Otherwise all pups are the same.”

Contract & health guarantee

Abby may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Abby offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Abby directly.
