Meet the breeder

I'm Ashly Caballero &., the breeder behind AceHaven Canines located in Orlando, FL. We Produce Red and Black - Short, Plush & Long Coat - West German Showline - German Shepherds of World Champion Bloodlines. Each parent having over 30+ Champions in their 5 generation pedigree. All of our dogs are health tested for hip & elbow dysplasia and DM. Breeding German Shepherds to the highest quality is extremely important to us. We strive to achieve the highest potential for every dog. We focus on health, temperament, structure, and beauty.

Q. & A. with Ashly Caballero

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve always had a love for animals and a fascination for the German Shepherd breed specifically. Since I was a young girl, my dream was to become a vet. I realized school wasn’t for me, and I decided to dedicate my life to animals and eventually found my new true passion in dog breeding.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed to improve the health, temperament, and beauty of German Shepherd Dogs. I encourage responsible breeding in a clean, healthy, and loving environment only. I hope with time, hip and elbow dysplasia becomes a problem of the past for this breed.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include long, plush, and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Great level

AceHaven Canines reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Lumbosacral Transitional Vertebra (LTV), Brucellosis

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
