I'm Scott L., the breeder behind Acorn Hill Bernese located in Fort Jones, CA. We are a small program breeding genetically excellent, well-socialized Bernese Mountain Dog puppies in Northern California. We are a small, family breeder combining the excellence of a breeder with the individualized care and attention of a small, one-female program. We breed our beloved family dog under the mentorship of a breeder with decades of experience. Our lines have stellar genetics and are AKC-registered.
Q. & A. with Scott
Why did you start breeding?
We've wanted a Bernese for a very long time, and when we had the opportunity to get one, we decided to find one with full AKC registration so that we could have puppies. We wanted to provide our family with a small side business to give our children experience and teach responsibility, and to help support our farm. We also love the breed and want to see others benefit from these dogs.
What makes your program special?
Our breeding program truly is the best of "both" worlds- professional breeding and a small family environment. We work closely with a responsible and experienced mentor breeder to ensure we are doing all of the right things and responding to challenges well. We give love and attention to each puppy. We only breed our one family dog. Our dogs have excellent genetics, pedigree, and test results.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
