I'm Teresa V., the breeder behind Ahuilaca Xoloitzcuintli located in North Carolina. When we bring a life into the world, we make sure it gets the best start possible. This includes proper health care and socialization for each puppy, but it starts even earlier than birth. We set our puppies up for success by carefully selecting the parents of each litter, keeping in mind factors such as health, temperament, conformation, ability, and drive. Our goal is to produce well-balanced puppies and find them loving, responsible homes.

Why did you start breeding?
It’s in my blood, growing up in the fancy with my parents’ Dals. Many years later I helped my sister show her Chinese Cresteds. I started in rally obedience with pet Xolos but got the itch to get in the conformation ring. I studied the standard, helped at shows and later picked my foundation bitch.What makes your program special?
When I started there were very few Xolos. They have since become more popular but are still a low number breed. I have had two litters for which I went back to my breeder to use frozen semen from sires pre AKC acceptance. I wanted to bring old lines forward. A more moderate image of the breed that I fell in love with when I was studying old photos.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
