I'm Joy L., the breeder behind Aiukli Whippets located in North New Portland, ME. We’re excited to share our very first litter with you. These special puppies come from a loving home where their parents, both AKC U.S. Champions, have been health tested to ensure strong, happy pups.

Why did you start breeding?
This is our first litter of puppies, and it’s a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. As someone new to breeding, I’m fortunate to have the guidance and wisdom of incredible mentors with over 40 years of experience in Whippet breeding. Their support has been invaluable, helping me learn how to responsibly breed healthy puppies that embody the best qualities of this amazing breed.
What makes your program special?
At Aiukli Whippets of Maine, we prioritize the health, temperament, and conformation of every puppy we raise. By carefully selecting champion bloodlines and conducting comprehensive health testing, we ensure that our puppies not only meet the breed standard but also thrive as loving, healthy companions.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue fawn, red brindle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Joy

Joy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, puppy socialization, and temperament test. All our puppies are the same price and includes AKC registration and microchipping.”

Contract & health guarantee

Joy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Joy offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Joy directly.

About Maggie Mae
Maggie Mae is a beautiful example of everything a whippet should be. She has a well balanced athletic form. She is confident in the confirmation ring, and serious on the coursing field. She travels well, is clean, and friendly. She enjoys the company of children and is a favorite at local stores. Maggie is an AKC Champion and is health tested.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Whippet Health Foundation Database, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
