Q. & A. with Maria
Why did you start breeding?
We got our first Norwich - Staci, and fell in love with this magical breed. As we added dogs to the family, we added activities, AKC shows, dog clubs, etc. Breeding was a natural extension that came after a lot of work and learning. It's not easy - but it's something I love to do.
What makes your program special?
I work as hard as I can to make sure I can breed the highest quality, healthiest puppies possible. I am constantly learning from canine experts, behavioral specialists and other breeders I respect - trying to make my program grow and get better. In addition, I do research on the different pedigrees, going back over 15 generations - to help keep known health problems out of my line.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include wheaten, red, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
