Meet the breeder

I'm Kirstin R., the breeder behind Allegro Rhodesian Ridgebacks located in Bigfork, MT. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation. We raise our puppies in our home and follow the Puppy Culture program so our puppy families have a well-adjusted pet. We are members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States and the Northwest Rhodesian Ridgeback Club and are on their breeder listings.

Q. & A. with Kirstin

  • Why did you start breeding?

After falling in love with the breed through our first Ridgeback, we were drawn to breeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks as a way to preserve everything we admire about them—their loyalty, athleticism, intelligence, and steady temperament. Living in Northwest Montana, we see firsthand how well they thrive in an active lifestyle, and we wanted to thoughtfully raise puppies who could be wonderful family companions as well as confident, capable partners in adventure. Our goal has always been to prioritize health, sound structure, and strong temperaments so other families can experience the same joy these incredible dogs have brought to our lives.
  • What makes your program special?

What makes our breeding program special is that it truly comes from the heart. Our Ridgebacks are part of our everyday life here in Northwest Montana. We focus on raising healthy, well-balanced puppies with great temperaments, because that’s what matters most to us. From the very beginning, our puppies are loved, socialized, and given a strong foundation so they’re ready to become amazing companions for their new families.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We carefully evaluate every puppy as they develop and work to match them with the family where they will thrive. Our goal is to ensure the best possible fit for both the puppy and their new home.”
