I'm Shari K., the breeder behind Alofa Dalmatians located in Athol, ID. I breed healthy well socialized Dalmatians. My breeding program shows they are not just a pretty dog but they have the ability to perform any task you ask of them. I take great pride in the work ethic my pups have in the performance events. Sometimes the most ordinary things can be made extraordinary simply by doing them with a Dalmatian.
Q. & A. with Shari
Why did you start breeding?
My first Dalmatians were pets until my son bought his Dalmatian and wanted to do 4H. I bought my show dog and then another. I fell more in love with the breed. After entering her into obedience, rally, and agility. I knew what she was capable of doing while loving every minute. After her health testing was complete and knowing what I wanted for my next show dog, I decided to breed her.
What makes your program special?
I love the breed. I want to show people how wonderful this breed can be and how versatile they are. I am there to help and mentor my puppy people and others on health, activities to do with there dogs, socializing, and training. I take my dogs to malls, fairs, grade schools, and college campuses to educate people on the breed. I'm always available to answer any and all questions.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and liver brown and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
