I'm Kathy G., the breeder behind Alouette Belgians located in Vinita, OK. We hold ourselves to the highest standard when it comes to our dogs and our policies. We take responsible breeding very seriously. We breed in order to preserve the wonderful attributes we found in our dogs. Because of our dedication to both the health and quality of the breed, it's our goal to pass these traits down to future generations.
Q. & A. with Kathy
Why did you start breeding?
I was the Malinois rescue chair for years so have seen the heartache of breeders that have litters irresponsibly. i did not want to ever be considered anything but a responsible breeder. I only breed dogs that have all their health checks done and are great examples of their breed. i take back any pup that i produce at any age and for any reason.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are National Specialty conformation winners. Many of our pups compete and excel in herding, agility, obedience and just about every AKC sport.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Alouette Belgians reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Belgian Malinois.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
