Meet the breeder

I'm Terra F., the breeder behind AlpenGlō Kennels located in Redding, CA. We raise confident, well-socialized Finnish Lapphund true to their Sámi people heritage. Dogs are health tested, DNA screened, and litters are carefully planned. With 30+ years assisting Taplac Bernese, we prioritize temperament, structure, and lifelong support for our puppy families.

Q. & A. with Terra

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve been in a whelping box since I was born, learning to care for and handle dogs of all kinds since I could walk. My mother is a renowned breeder of merit and has instilled in me a sense of preservation and health over population.
  • What makes your program special?

Years of hands on experience. Showing and sport titles and lots of testimonials from puppy buyers that the dogs my mother and I raise are an absolute dream to own, as companions and show.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Terra partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“My most important consideration when finding my puppies new homes is the right match, not just placement. I’m committed to making sure each puppy joins a family that understands the Finnish Lapphund’s intelligent, social, and active nature and is prepared to include their dog as a true member of the family. I look for homes that value training, enrichment, and companionship, and that are excited to support a puppy’s development into a confident, well-rounded adult. Because these puppies are raised with intention, health testing, and early social experiences, it’s very important to me that they continue to thrive in environments where their physical and emotional needs are met. I also stay connected with my puppy families for the lifetime of the dog and am always here as a resource and support. Ultimately, my goal is lifelong success for both the puppy and the family.”
