I'm Stefanie D., the breeder behind Alpenglow Alaskan Malamutes located in Iowa City, IA. We breed AKC Alaskan Malamutes keeping health, temperament, & sound structure in mind. Every one of our puppies is a family pet above all else, but we occasionally have show & working prospects. We use the Alaskan Malamute Club of America’s breed standard as our guide.
Q. & A. with Stefanie
Why did you start breeding?
I have been absolutely obsessed with dogs my entire life and I’ve always had a passion for well-bred dogs and approaching it the "right" way - utilizing all science has given us to choose the best breeding practices. I think of it as a duty to use my drive, passion, skills, and knowledge to preserve and contribute to the amazing history of the Alaskan Malamute.
What makes your program special?
We stand behind our puppies and will always be present for the entirety of their lives. We want to support you and your puppy in any way we can; puppy owners become a part of our family. A puppy from us is more than just a furry friend - you are also getting someone to consult for training advice, guidance to the introduction of dog sports(if interested), etc. We are LGBTQ+ allies 🫶
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include agouti and white and gray and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
