Meet the breeder

I'm Trichelle M., the breeder behind Alpha Weims by The Mattas Kennel located in Reddick, IL. Breeding with a focus on working lines, my dogs are sure to excel in the field and on the couch next to their loving owners. I meticulously pair my breedings parents based on blood lines and pedigrees while also incorporating imported dogs to ensure health and diversity. Let's see if a Weim is right for you!

Q. & A. with Trichelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve been raising Weims for 17 years and instantly fell in love with the breed which sparked my interest in breeding! I was captivated by their loyalty and athleticism. In my book there is no better breed! I must have the best of the best and only produce the best!
  • What makes your program special?

My imported girls are from the infamous Yanina Villa line out of Bulgaria and they #3&4 in the US with #1&2 ranking in the top 10! My girls are professionally trained in upland hunting but you can still find them napping on my couch most days! My promise to you is to bring you the best of both worlds, a rockstar in the field and a constant companion even for the smallest of weim lovers!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
